Summer is an opportunity for change.
Bright evenings, warm weather and natural greenery are a source of inspiration. In many yards, a crumbling paint job is replaced with a new one, a withered flower bed is given a new lease of life and a pressure washer is dug out of the garage. Creative work that generates strength and light.
In the morning, the machinery was driven into the yard. The plan was ready, the workers were there and a brand new yard was in front of our eyes. The excavator started up and the bucket dug into the earth. The earthworks had begun.
Sometimes, when you have a lot of enthusiasm, ideas and capacity, problems can arise. A good plan and professionalism are not always enough in this life, accidents happen and often they don't show up. A digger's shovel in the wrong place, a hole too deep, and electrical wires snapped. Even though the white summer nights made sure that the lights were not needed right now, everyone understood that winter would come at some point. And it's very dark and cold around here.
The 24 Center phone rings. The call was concise and clear. Earthworks, backhoe, bucket, power lines, down. The job was accepted and soon the excavator was joined by an electrician's truck. A tool kit from the boot, a survey of the situation and off he went. Soon the power was restored, the excavator started and the powerful bucket was moving earth again. When professionals meet, problems are solved quickly.
Finished work breeds gratitude. The garden had a new look, and it was good to see. Its newly planted shrubs sparkled in the summer sun and the fresh black soil smelled of vitality. The grumbling of the digger had stopped, only the birdsong could be heard from somewhere.
And when winter finally came, the lights came on too.
