A plumber saved a plumber from getting away with it

Broken tap as alarm clock, plumber saved by a plumber

It was a moonlit May night. It was around 10:30 when a couple from the Bay of Balaton had just fallen to their deaths, unaware of the unpleasant surprise that awaited them. Often, just after falling asleep, waking up feels very unpleasant and irritable. If the waking up is still due to a technical problem, it is no exaggeration to multiply the irritation by three.

This was exactly the man's state of mind when he woke up to a loud gush of water coming from the kitchen. "What on earth can be in there?" he mutters. The man quickly sits up while rubbing his sleepy eyes. The kitchen tap is leaking from the fitting, splashing water wherever it happens to be. The man immediately knows what to do. With quick steps, he rushes to the main faucet and turns off the water to the whole house. The water stops flowing. He starts drying the spots with a towel. The wife has also got up.

"Will you check online to see if there are any plumbers available at this hour?" asks the man, moving his towel briskly. After a moment, she says: "A plumber can be here in 15 minutes. At least this one is open 24/7." "Call them," replies the husband. A calm customer service representative answers the phone and takes stock of the situation. The order was placed. A plumber was promised to be there to fix the situation within an hour. After a while, the plumber called to say that he happened to have a new faucet with him, so the problem would be solved at once.

After about an hour, the plumber arrived with a new tap, and just after midnight the kitchen was back in working order and the water supply could be turned on again. The man thanked the plumber and said it was much better to have a night's rest when the job was done and not have to stress about how to solve the problem.
